Date: 20/02/2009

On 10th January 2009, Queens' College hosed the Cambridge Colleges Charity Ball which raised £11,500 for CamSight and CLIC Sargent.

In 2007, catering managers from Magdalene, Queens', Lucy Cavendish and Robinson Colleges decided to work together to organise a charity ball to raise money for local charities such as CamSight and CLIC Sargent. CamSight helps to support people with sight difficulties and CLIC Sargent cares for children and young people with cancer.

The black tie ball was held on 10th January 2009 at Queens' College.  Over 250 pax attended from 18 colleges and there was also a charity aution. The ball was very successful and raised £11,500 which was more than double the amount the catering managers had hoped to raise initially.

At the start of Feb, representatives from both charities were presented with cheques at the Mathematical Bridge at Queens' College.
